Qibla Direction Finder

Find the direction of the Qibla — toward the Kaaba in Makkah — from your location. Use GPS or enter coordinates; the compass bearing is computed on your device.

How it works

  1. Tap "Use my current location" (your browser will ask for permission) or type your latitude and longitude manually.
  2. Press "Find Qibla direction". The great-circle bearing from your position to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E) is computed instantly in your browser.
  3. The compass shows the bearing in degrees, the nearest compass point, and your distance to Makkah. Your location never leaves your device.

FAQ

How accurate is the direction?

The math is exact for a spherical Earth (within a fraction of a degree). Real-world accuracy depends on your GPS fix and on keeping metal objects and magnets away from your phone's compass sensor.

Why does the Qibla point "the wrong way" on a flat map?

The Earth is round: the shortest path (great circle) to Makkah can look curved or counter-intuitive on a flat map. The bearing given here follows that shortest path.

Do you store my location?

No. Geolocation is used once to read your coordinates, the bearing is computed locally, and nothing is sent or stored anywhere.

Private by design: everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
