Metronome

Keep perfect time: set the tempo with the slider or tap it out, choose a time signature, and follow the sound and the flashing beat.

Time signature:

How it works

  1. Set the tempo with the slider (40–208 BPM) or tap the Tap tempo button in rhythm — the tempo updates from your taps.
  2. Pick a time signature. The first beat of each bar (red flash, higher click) is accented.
  3. Press Start and play along. The metronome stays accurate even in background tabs.

FAQ

How does tap tempo work?

Tap the button at least twice in rhythm. The tempo is calculated from the average gap between your recent taps, so keep tapping steadily for a stable reading.

Which beats are accented?

The first beat of every bar gets a higher-pitched click and a red flash. In 6/8, beats 1 and 4 are emphasized like a classic compound feel.

Why does it need me to press Start before any sound?

Browsers only allow audio after you interact with the page — that's why the metronome (like all sound tools here) stays silent until you press Start.

Private by design: everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
