IBAN Validator

Paste any IBAN to check its format with the official MOD 97 algorithm, and see its country, BBAN and bank code. No account, no uploads.

How it works

  1. Paste or type the IBAN — spaces and dashes are fine.
  2. Click Validate: we check the country code, the official length for that country, and run the MOD 97 check-digit test.
  3. Read the breakdown: country, BBAN, bank code, and a cleanly formatted IBAN in groups of four.

FAQ

What does this tool actually check?

Three things: the country code exists in the IBAN registry, the length matches that country's official IBAN length, and the two check digits pass the MOD 97 test. That is the full international standard for IBAN validation.

Why is my IBAN showing as invalid?

The most common causes are a typo in the check digits, the wrong length for the country, or a country code the IBAN system does not cover. Double-check the number against your bank statement.

Is my IBAN sent to a server?

No. The whole check runs in your browser with a built-in country table. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

Validates format only — it does not confirm that the account exists. A "valid" result means the number is well-formed, not that the account is real or belongs to anyone.
Private by design: everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
