EMI Calculator

Monthly instalment, total interest and a year-by-year amortization table for home, car and personal loans.

Year-by-year amortization

Private by design: everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. This calculator gives an estimate using the standard EMI formula — your bank's fees, processing charges and exact day-count may change the figures slightly. It is not financial advice.

How it works

  1. Enter the loan amount, annual interest rate and tenure.
  2. Your monthly EMI, total interest and total repayment appear instantly.
  3. Read the year-by-year table to see how much of each year goes to principal versus interest.

FAQ

How is EMI calculated?

EMI = P × r × (1+r)n / ((1+r)n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly rate (annual rate ÷ 12, as a decimal) and n is the number of monthly instalments.

What is the EMI for a 10 lakh loan at 9% for 20 years?

About ₹8,997 per month. Total interest over the 20 years is about ₹11.59 lakh, so total repayment is about ₹21.59 lakh. Type your own numbers above to check.

Does a longer tenure reduce my total cost?

No. A longer tenure lowers the monthly EMI but increases total interest. Early instalments are mostly interest; the principal share grows over time — the table above shows the shift year by year.
