Cooking Converter

Volume to weight with real ingredient densities, oven temperature (F / C / Gas Mark), and volume-to-volume conversions. Fractions like "1 1/2" work.

Private by design: everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Pick a tab: Volume ↔ Weight, Temperature, or Volume ↔ Volume.
  2. Type an amount (fractions like "1 1/2" are fine), choose the units and — for weight — the ingredient.
  3. Results update instantly; ingredient densities are built in (e.g. 1 cup of flour = 125 g).

FAQ

Why does 1 cup of flour not weigh the same as 1 cup of honey?

Volume and weight measure different things. Each ingredient has its own density — 1 cup of honey weighs about 340 g while 1 cup of all-purpose flour weighs 125 g. This converter uses a built-in density table for 26 common ingredients.

What is Gas Mark?

Gas Mark is the temperature scale used on UK gas ovens. For example, 350°F / 180°C is Gas Mark 4. Enter any of the three and the other two are shown.

Can I type fractions?

Yes — "1/2", "1 1/2" and decimals like "0.5" all work in the amount fields.
